’71 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40
A RETURN TO FORM
Finished Result
This was one of our favorite projects due to Jack and his wife being so great during the project, and they are now practically family. Another cool part of the project is that it is mostly stock and represents the early Land Cruiser form, with no V8 swap or major custom features. It still has the 3.9L 6 cylinder carbureted engine, stock interior, and factory ride height.
The Backstory & Restoration
Over a Decade of Progress
The Dejnak family has owned this vehicle for over 12 years and finally took the final steps to complete the restoration. Jack has been restoring his Land Cruiser in his barn for the last decade in his free time. His work consisted of mechanical repair and axle swap/transmission 4-speed swap out of a later year FJ-60. Our facility did the upholstery work along with tons of bodywork, rust repair, and some mechanical maintenance. The vehicle was painted a dark maroon metallic and two-tone dash that reminded them of a friend’s Land Cruiser who has long passed.
