’84 Egypt Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40
The Sand Cruiser
The Finished Product
Overall, we added a 2″ OME suspension lift, upgraded KC LED headlights, color matched spray-on raptor floor liner, 3 point harness seat belts in the front along with lap belts in the rear, oversized 33″ BFG All Terrain Tires on factory powder coated wheels, front disc brake conversion and a retro sound system. Interior upholstery was done by the customer. The client had us build the Land Cruiser just as he remembered it as a kid growing up with his dad, and cherishes those moments spent together. Having this truck brings back good family memories. Here are some photos of the restoration and finished photo shoot.

The Backstory & Restoration
A Hidden Gem From Across The Ocean
Thanks for viewing our recently finished restoration project of this 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40, an overseas model (Non-US spec.) that originally started its life out as a mail truck in the middle east. Eventually, it made its way to Egypt for some parts of its life, and then got imported over to the states by the owner’s son who has now taken ownership of this truck, allowing it to live on for future generations. This Land Cruiser was probably one of the cleanest, rust free Land Cruisers we have ever worked on in our shop due to the climate they have over in the middle east (very dry). The vehicle is pretty close to US-Spec, but has a few small details that tell it apart: Oil bath air cleaner, large 3″ drum brakes in the front and rear, vent windows on the front doors, front lap belts, kilometer gauge cluster and a few different wiring designs, but overall is pretty close. The vehicle came factory with air conditioning and power steering too! One of the hardest parts of this restoration was matching the exact color of the vehicle due to the prior paint applied over years past. The only thing that wasn’t painted was the firewall so we could match it properly.
