HIGHLIGHTS TO FAME

Greg’s Restorations was founded after years of hard work, determination, and countless restorations. We have only gotten better at our craft since day one, and we look forward to continuing to provide excellent restorations. Check out our history and get a glimpse into what the future holds.

2005

GREG’S FIRST PROJECT

Greg and his father purchased his first restoration project for $500. The goal was to have a cool student ride at high school different from everyone else’s modern vehicle. The vehicle was a 1974 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40. Eventually, his grandparents let him start using there garage to start his first restoration instead of working outside. Greg’s goal was to never have to work on vehicles outside in the weather ever again.

2008

STARTING OFF STRONG

Greg rents his first Building in Barre, Massachusetts with some friends and starts restoring cars after college and after working for a local body shop doing collision work. Some late nights!

2011

GREG’S RESTORATIONS OPENS

The late fall of November 2011, Greg sets off on his own and starts the company you are now familiar with called “Greg’s Restorations LLC.” After 6 months of preparation, Greg takes his business to a whole new level and forms an actual company instead of being a hobby shop. Let’s see how this goes!

2013

FIRST FAMOUS RESTORATION

One of the first major highlights to fame was the restoration of Marty McFly’s 1985 Toyota Pickup from the film “Back To The Future.” This Truck was used in the films 2 and 3. The first movie truck was raffled off and eventually ran into the ground from stories I have heard over the years. Greg’s company also restored a DeLorean Stage prop that was also later used in a Discovery Channel Series along with a few other things Greg has restored.

2014

 WORKING WITH UNIVERSAL

Greg lands the restoration of one of Universal Studios DeLorean special effects stage props to be restored for the 30th anniversary. Years later, the prop was featured in a series on the Discovery Channel shown below. We have also started working on other movie props and memorabilia. Check out the original video.

2015

NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY SHOUTOUT

After the restoration of this truck, we were featured in a Netflix Documentary called “Back in Time” for the 30th anniversary of the Film. The documentary put us on the map for being one of the top restoration facilities in the country, and work just started rolling in like never before.

2016

1 MILLION VIEWS

GETTING NOTICED ONLINE

After gaining popularity in the Toyota community, Greg’s builds their first resto-mod V8 Land Cruiser FJ-40 for a customer and becomes one of the most viewed Land Cruisers on the web with 1 million views, making it in the top 3 videos on Google for FJ-40 restorations.

2017

“RISKY BUSINESS” RESTORATION

Greg’s Restorations helps preserve the Porsche 928 movie car everyone is familiar with from the film “Risky Business”, starring Tom Cruise in his early years of acting. The vehicle was cleaned up to be sent to the Petersons Auto Museum in California to be on display and later auctioned off at Barrett Jackson in the fall of 2021 for just shy of 2 million, breaking world records!

2021

EXPEDITION: BACK TO THE FUTURE

Greg’s is featured in another series on the Discovery Channel called “Expedition: Back To The Future” where most of the shop’s screen clips were used to talk about the Toyota Pickup. Also a big segment on the show was on finding DeLoreans, and another prop Greg’s restored back in 2014 was a big hit on the show.

2022

Greg’s Restorations is proud to announce that our Toyota Landcruiser was chosen for the Top 40 Battle of the Builders and making it all the way to the Top 12. Top 12 is broken down into 4 classes with three vehicles in each. Our Landcruiser was Top 3 Off-road and Top 12 overall!

2023

SEMA TELEVISION FEATURES

Greg’s Restorations is featured on the SEMA Battle of the Builders television special on the History Channel as well as the TV Show Driven following the event.

2025

Dante’s Peak Restoration

Greg’s Restorations has purchased one of the most exciting automotive barn finds ever: the actual screen-used 1987 Chevrolet Suburban V10 Custom 4×4 from Dante’s Peak, starring Pierce Brosnan. This iconic truck has rightfully earned its place as one of the most recognizable and beloved movie vehicles in cinema history. We’ll be documenting the full restoration process in a build series on our YouTube channel, where we’ll share all the work going into bringing this iconic vehicle back to life—plus a few fun surprises along the way.

2026

WORLDS GREATEST TV SHOW

Greg’s Restorations has been nominated for the World Greatest TV show. Filming will take place in January 2026!
